Los Angeles, California - Last night, iconic music producer Nile Rodgers received 3 Grammy awards including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for his work with Daft Punk and Pharrell at the 56th annual Grammy Awards.
The evening featured a live performance in which the band teamed up on stage with Stevie Wonder and performed this year's ubiquitous hit song GET LUCKY.
Nile Rodgers and Girard-Perregaux joined forces last September for the event CHANGING WATCH in New York City in support of Rodgers' We Are Family Foundation and its mission to cultivate young philanthropists and visionaries of the future. A similar event took place in Paris, where Girard-Perregaux honored Nile Rodgers along with two of the young leaders that the foundation has been mentoring through its programs throughout the years.
In March 2014, Girard-Perregaux will launch a special edition timepiece from the Shadow Hawk collection dedicated to Nile Rodgers and his We Are Family Foundation in the occasion of the foundation's yearly celebration gala to take place in New York City which is soon to be announced. The timepiece further celebrates Rodgers' mutual friendship, admiration and support with the Swiss watch brand. At yesterday's performance at the Grammy Award Show, Nile wore a Girard-Perregaux 1966 Equation of Time.
In anticipation of the We Are Family Foundation Gala and launch of the WAFF special edition Shadow Hawk, Girard-Perregaux has created a special mix of Niles' greatest hits with a special introduction message from the artist that can be listened to at this link.
