Girard-Perregaux Laureato Launch in Shanghai
Inheriting the aesthetic qualities enriching the heritage of Girard-Perregaux, Laureato Collection 2017 – four decades after its debut – was unveiled in Shanghai.
On June 28th the launch ceremony of Laureato Collection 2017 in Shanghai was hosted by Mr. Antonio Calce, Chief Executive Officer of Girard-Perregaux, joined by silver screen stars, Li Chenand Zhang Li, whose persistence in their career is a living example of the Laureato spirit.
“We feel very honoured to share with you all the heritage and excellence of Laureato, and to have Li Chen and Zhang Li here to celebrate this precious moment with us!” said Mr. Antonio Calce.
In his speech, Mr. Antonio Calce offered guests a glimpse of the Swiss watch manufacturer’s determination to offer its discerning clientele a new experience of luxury and the art of living.
The attending guests enjoyed the opportunity to preview the latest Laureato Skeleton, and witness how the now-complete family bridges dreams and heritage.
The address was followed by a music and light show, culminating with an on-stage fashion parade of models wearing the latest Laureato watches on stage. Lighting up the event with their presence, Li Chen and Zhang Li joined all guests for a toast and group photo, expressing eagerness to see more cutting-edge, artistic designs by Girard-Perregaux.
At the close of the ceremony, they proceededto the exhibition area showcasing the latest new models from the Girard-Perregaux Laureato Collection 2017.
This 3-day trip in Shanghai was an opportunity for Mr Antonio Calce to meet with retailers over an exclusive dinner, Chinese key opinion leaders at a luncheon event, Shanghai and Beijing media at a Launch press event, as well as hosting VIP clients during a dinner party, all with the aim of introducing the Laureato collection in China.
Back in the 1970s, there was a palpable demand for a timepiece that would be both sporty and elegant. Inspired by Florence’s Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore, Girard-Perregaux introduced a new shape – an octagonal bezel surrounding a round dial – that would become the icon of the lightweight, geometrically enticing Laureato Collection.
The Laureato Collection is recognised by its distinctive Clous de Paris decoration, thereby forming an exceptionally fine pyramid pattern covering the entire face of the wristwatch and thus creating a delightfully poetic play on light. Yet Laureato is more than a wristwatch; it stands for a way of thinking, a distinctive aesthetic combining strength and sports chic, a synthesis of exquisite details and style. As well as symbolizing eminence, Laureato displays an exceptional ability to evolve while consistently cultivating superior craftsmanship and an inimitable flair for design.
