Laureato gets its New York launch

After Barcelona, Madrid, Zurich, Paris and other European cities, Mr. Antonio Calce, CEO of Girard-Perregaux, officially presents the Laureato collection at Spring Place in New York’s historic Soho district.

The Manufacture Girard-Perregaux scored a double hit by presenting its new collection in New York both to the press and to selected guests.

Girard-Perregaux Laureato Collection

Girard-Perregaux held a breakfast with the American financial, lifestyle and watch trade press in order present its new Laureato collection. An opportunity for Girard-Perregaux CEO Antonio Calce to retrace certain key milestones in the history of the brand, naturally including the story of the legendary Laureato watch from its introduction in 1975 to its rebirth in 2017.

The presentation was followed that same evening by a cocktail party, organized in partnership with the Watch Journal, to celebrate the Laureato in the company of clients and collectors.

The many guests attending this occasion were able to discover the first ever U.S showing of an exhibition featuring a historical retrospective of the Laureato, from 1975 to the present day, complete with the new Laureato collection recently presented at the SIHH (Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie à Genève).

Connoisseurs and collectors had been eagerly awaiting its return for many years. 2017 sees the birth of a complete Laureato range within the current Girard-Perregaux collection. Four sizes, four movements, four materials: The Laureato line has never been so rich and so varied. Building on the success encountered since the start of the year, the Laureato collection is thus enriched and continues to evolve with new complications and new perspectives.

Watch devotees also had the privilege of discovering the new Laureato Skeleton, which has barely emerged from the Manufacture workshops. Embodying the latest interpretation of the Laureato range, entirely revamped and richer than ever, this wristwatch with its metal bracelet is a fascinating exercise in horological architecture. Girard-Perregaux has drawn upon the origins of the Laureato, in terms of noble aesthetic inspiration as well as watchmaking expertise.

Jonathan Bues & Antonio Calce, CEO

Antoine Calce, CEO Girard-Perregaux: "It’s a real pleasure for the Girard-Perregaux brand to be here in New York to officially launch the Laureato collection, to share its history and to present one of its exceptional models: The Laureato Skeleton. This is the first time in its long history that Girard-Perregaux is developing a complete range of products on the basis of the iconic Laureato."

Jonathan Bues, Watch Journal Editor-in-Chief:"It was such a pleasure to show Watch Journal's friends and readers the 2017 Laureato Collection. I was impressed by many of these timepieces the moment I first saw them at the SIHH."
