Only Watch 2013: Girard-Perregaux Chrono Hawk Only Watch Edgy Design and Watchmaking Expertise to Support Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Research
11th June 2013, Swiss luxury watchmaker, Girard-Perregaux, is once again mobilizing to support Only Watch. The Principality of Monaco will be hosting on September 28th the fifth edition of this exceptional “Only Watch” charity timepiece auction benefiting research for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. In order to support their efforts, Girard-Perregaux has designed a unique piece of its new sport collection, Chrono Hawk. This exclusive timepiece combines elegance, audacity and watch making expertise blending matt black ceramics with white silvery palladium.
Sporty. Elegant. Modern. The Chrono Hawk Only Watch leaves nothing to chance, neither the design of its case, which associates bold edges and a round bezel, nor its face, which gives prominence to the measurement of short times. Its meticulous style, combining centuries of manufacturing tradition with a permanent commitment to innovation, is apparent in every detail of the design and manufacture of this watch.
Contemporary and bold, the style blends ceramic and palladium. Deep black and silvery-white and yet perfectly functional, the elements of the case blend into one another, while keeping their individual strengths to end up accentuating the watch’s architecture. The well-balanced dial showcases the time data. Two red counters face each other in perfect symmetry at 9 and 3 o’clock, while the date is placed at 6 o’clock. The applied hour markers and the hour and minute hands are lit with luminescent material. This classic layout is complemented with a motif inspired by the famous Girard-Perregaux Bridge.
The character of the Chrono Hawk Only Watch is finally emphasized by its original alligator strap, with rubber lining and red stitches.
Visible through the case’s sapphire back, the caliber GP03300, a self-winding mechanical movement, drives this very high performance unique piece.
