In its capacity as official watchmaking partner of the Rallye des Caprices for the second year running, watch manufacturer Girard-Perregaux, was delighted to host the opening leg of the Rallye des Caprices 2016 on Tuesday September 20th at the company headquarters in La Chaux-de-Fonds.
CEO Antonio Calce notably expressed Girard-Perregaux’ determination to support all-women events and thus sustainably nurture gender equality through partnerships. The press conference was held in the “Château” Girard-Perregaux and attended by Miss Switzerland 2015, Laetitia Guarino, along with the teams competing in the Rallye des Caprices.
During the evening, after the team briefing sessions, the rally drivers set out from the company headquarters on a reconnaissance trip in the direction of Neuchâtel. Laetitia Guarino enjoyed a ride aboard the Girard-Perregaux car, a 1970s BMW 2002 painted in the company colours.
The Rallye des Caprices will be racing along Swiss roads until Friday September 23rd 2016, when it will conclude with a prize-giving ceremony held in the Parc des Eaux-Vives, Geneva.
Girard-Perregaux will have the pleasure of awarding two watches from the Circuito collection launched this year to mark the 225th anniversary of the Manufacture from La Chaux-de-Fonds and paying homage to its strong ties with the world of motorsports.
