Girard-Perregaux Celebrates Iconic Spanish Director Pedro Almodóvar at I’m so Excited Premiere in New York City
New York City, NY (7th June 2013)– Last night, Swiss luxury watchmaker Girard-Perregaux, honored iconic Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodovar at the premiere of his latest film I’m so excited (Los Amantes Pasajeros) in New York City. The private event was hosted by The Cinema Society and featured a screening of Mr. Almodovar’s latest movie at the Sunshine Theater.
Mr. Almodóvar attended the event wearing his Girard-Perregaux 1966 Full Calendar in white gold. “Time has a crucial role in all of my movies” he said. “It is what transforms the characters, their desires, their essence, their nature. Time is the only way in which we can measure our transformation as human beings”.
“The Girard-Perregaux 1966 Full Calendar pays homage to the talent of Pedro Almodóvar. Unique, of a high sophistication and rare complexity”, stated Michele Sofisti, CEO of Sowind Group (Girard-Perregaux and JEANRICHARD).
This event also highlights Girard-Perregaux’s commitment to celebrate movies, evident in its existing partnership with the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, of which they are the exclusive timekeeping partner and founding supporter, scheduled to open in 2016 in Los Angeles.
Following the screening of Los Amantes Pasajeros at Landmark Sunshine Cinema, guests including designers Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein, Nicole Miller, actors Zachary Quinto, Kathleen Turner, Alan Cumming, Rossy de Palma, Rose Byrne together with members from the cast Blanca Suarez, Miguel Angel Silvestre and Carlos Areces attended the after party at New York City hot spot No. 8.
